About Us

Thank you for visiting us! This documents our adoption journey to Bella Catherine Long Luoyue Pearson, in China. Why Chocolate Noodles? Well, we’ve learned that Bella's favorite foods are noodles and candy. Both, Dale and Rachel LOVE chocolate and Beth chose to fast from chocolate until she can share it with Bella. We would be honored if you would follow along as we travel to China to complete our family.

We received no reply to our emails to the independent orphanage in Taiwan. Their website shows they are interested in helping couples who cannot have children of their own. We can respect that as the mission God has given them, yet it is disappointing for us.

We are now perusing the web and referrals for other adoption agencies that may be able to match us with a program. We sent an email including a profile on us and our adoption preferences through a web tool today. It sends the email to adoption agencies across the United States.

Taiwan’s special needs program is challenging for us. Many of the children need more special care than we have resources to provide for right now. However, we are making contact with an independent orphanage in Taiwan which was referred by Lifeline. They have children who have special needs we feel we can provide for.

Through prayer it has been made clear to us that the six year old girl in Taiwan is not our daughter, but someone else’s. It is hard to actually speak that, yet God has given us peace in saying no. We are in pursuit of the child we know is our daughter.

We were contacted about a six year old orphan in Taiwan. We are reviewing her information and praying. The agency has also asked if we might be interested in Bulgaria.

It’s all happening very fast and it is a lot of information to absorb. Praying, praying and praying.

We begin pursuing Taiwan adoption programs today.

The adoption team has let us know that we have been rejected by the Chinese government due to Dale’s history of malignant melanoma. Although we had an absolutely wonderful letter from the surgeon, giving Dale a clean bill of health, that is not enough to ease their concerns. We were certainly disappointed and it took us a few days to work through the news. Today, however, we are more determined than ever to seek and know God’s will for us in this adoption. Our girl may not in China but she is somewhere on this planet and we are diligently pursuing her.

We have all prayed and developed a short list of other countries and requested more information. Please pray for us to hear clearly what direction we need to go. Also continue to pray for our girl to be cared for and for her heart to be and remain soft and open to God and His Truth.

By the way, the “Twilight” comments over the name “Bella” are just too much so we’re contemplating changing her name. We loved the name because of a movie we saw a couple of years ago titled “Bella.” In God’s unique way He touched our hearts with that movie. It was about the beauty of adoption. We’ll update you on where we land next time. :D

Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers!

Love and Blessings! Jeremiah 29:11!
