Some interesting information was shared with us today. My mom sent me an email about my dad's cousin. I've never met nor even known of this cousin. My dad says he moved away to go to college when they were young and they all just lost contact. His name is Milton Donaldson and he became a pediatric oncologist in Philadelphia. He specialilzed in Hematology, the study of blood, blood-forming organs and blood diseases. He not only studied and worked in the field, he is renoun for his work in hematology. He was recently awarded the highly prestigous 2011 Praxis Award at Villanova University. The Praxis Award highlights and celebrates the contributions of a professional or academic in the field of professional ethics.
I read all I could find about him online and there is much to tell. However, this statement struck me most, "His concern was not limited to the physical dimensions of the illness suffered by his small patients, but encompassed the overall wellbeing of his patients and their families. He recognized that the families needed assistance as their children battled for their lives." This passion drove him to be heavily involved in the founding of the first Ronald McDonald houses.
Dale and I know it is not by chance that God picked a child for us, long before we were even born, who would have a blood disorder foreign to our on race. We are as ill-equipped and inexperienced as they come. But by God's hand, we have a contact who is not just knowledgeable, but an expert. Not a coincidence my friends.
We have not reached out to him yet. But once Bella is here, and we have her medical review, we will share all of her medical information and take any advice or contacts he can give us for her future treatments and care.
God's detail and the love He has for his children is truly indescribable.

Update to friends and supporters:
"Thank you for your prayers. We will overnight our request for an update on Bella today. We hop to have new information on her health, growth and photos in a couple of weeks. We are all excited at the thought. There are some regulations around timelines with China, so we also inquired as to whether the delay in fingerprints puts us in jeopardy of losing Bella. Our adoption coordinator feels confident there are no concerns. She said they will, "file for an extension when we meet the six month mark and if there were concerns, Sabrina would have been making contact already." That was really great news!

We sent the second set of fingerprints on Friday and received confirmation they were delivered yesterday morning. I attached a pleading letter for them to expedite since we are already matched and are trying to get to our 3 year old daughter in China. J Maybe I have a 10% chance someone will give it priority. Praying for favor.
